Privacy Notice

This notice explains what this site may collect when you use Lake County inmate-record guides, search tools, outbound links, or contact options. By using the site, you accept these collection, use, and sharing practices.

Information You Send

Search Terms

When you type a name, county, or location into a third-party search tool, that query is sent to the provider operating the tool. Lake County Inmate Population does not keep its own separate log of those search terms.

Messages

If you email or send a contact message, we use the information you provide to read and answer the message. We do not share those messages outside our organization unless a valid legal requirement applies.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, this site may collect technical data when pages load, including pages that link to the Lake County Jail page, Citizen RIMS, or Lake County District Court.

  • Your IP address.
  • Your browser name and version.
  • Your device type and operating system.
  • The pages viewed and time spent on them.
  • The referring website, when one is available.
  • Date and time stamps tied to site activity.

Cookies

Cookies may be used to understand site traffic and improve how pages work. You can block cookies in your browser settings, although some search, advertising, or analytics features may work differently when cookies are disabled.

How We Use Information

  • To keep the site available, stable, and reasonably fast.
  • To send search requests to the correct third-party service.
  • To understand which Lake County jail, court, DOC, BOP, ICE, or VINELink pages readers use most.
  • To diagnose broken links, loading problems, or other technical issues.
  • To display advertising that may be more relevant to visitors.

Outside Websites

This site links to sheriff and jail pages, Minnesota Court Records Online, Minnesota Department of Corrections resources, VINELink, BOP, ICE, legal references such as the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. ch. 13, and third-party search providers. Once you leave this site, the destination site's privacy policy controls how your information is handled.

Advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across different websites and deliver interest-based ads. That tracking is controlled by the advertising partner, not by Lake County Inmate Population.

Who May Receive Information

We do not sell personal data. Information may be available to the following parties when needed to operate the site or comply with law.

  • Search partners that process name, location, or lookup queries.
  • Analytics providers that measure page use and technical performance.
  • Advertising networks that place or measure ads.
  • Law enforcement, courts, or government bodies when a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful demand requires it.

Security

We use reasonable security practices for a public reference website. No internet-connected service can be guaranteed breach-proof, so we cannot promise that information transmitted online will always remain secure.

Visitors Under 18

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted information, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

Your Choices

  • You may ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you.
  • You may ask us to correct information that is wrong.
  • You may request deletion of information we are not required to keep.
  • You may opt out of certain processing where the law gives that right.
